Hannah's review of 2007

Best Song: We liked 'Greyhound Bus' by 'Oh Susanna'

Best Film: I really enjoyed Atonement

Best Moments: Getting our new puppy. Going away with the Redlands.

Watching Rain getting attacked by a killer bee in Leicester (well, it

crawled all over his head). Doing the Bob Harris show again. Autumn

colours in the Forest of Dean.

Worst Moment:  Falling off my horse and having to use an NHS walking stick for a week.

Favourite Gig:  Richmond Fontaine and Co, Darvel Music Festival,

Scotland

Best Redlands Gig: Le Pub, Newport, last February. I fractured my elbow falling down the stairs afterwards which wasn't so great, but prior to that it was fantastic, in my hometown with all my family there, you

couldn't hope for better!

Weirdest Redlands Gig:  The Savoy Theatre, Monmouth. Everyone from our village attended dressed as Alex, wearing beards, baseball caps and checked shirts.

Worst Redlands Gig:  Any of the gigs where I couldn't play my guitar

because my arm was in a sling. I just felt like a gimp.

Best Band: Those pesky Snakes

ROLL ON 2008

Dan's 2007

Best gig (mine): without doubt The Snakes and the Redlands Palomino Company at the Luminaire in London. Played two rip-roaring sets with the UK's two best country-rock bands. Buckets of sweat, replaced by cases of danish lager.

Best gig (other): Richmond Fontaine at Darvel festival, Scotland. A

long overdue introduction to their truely great songs.

Party: My birthday, camping with RPC and other friends at Tapestry

 festival in August.

New records: Mark Olson- Salvation Blues.

  Wilco- Sky blue sky.

  Chuck Prophet-Soap and Water.

Surreal moment of the year: Being joined onstage at the Savoy, Monmouth by around thirty Alex Elton-Walls. One is surely enough for any stage.

Best new instrument: Vibe(ra)slap. So much fun from a woodblock and a bent peice of steel rod.

Low point: End of tour journey from Darvel, Scotland to the Forest of Dean.

High point: Recording my drums with my new best friends in the house i grew up in.

2008 has a tough act to follow, but i have a good feeling about the new year.
