+APRIL 1 2009+
Dear Friends - We are very pleased to announce that RPC are opening for the legendary Rockingbirds at several of the dates on their forthcoming reunion tour in a couple of weeks time:
Tuesday 14th April 2009: BRISTOL - St. Bonaventures
Friday 17th April 2009: BRIGHTON - Engine Room
Saturday 18th April 2009: LONDON (Tufnell Park) - The Dome
We advise getting tickets for these gigs in advance, as they may well sell out.More details on the GIGS page.
We are particularly excited about these gigs, as we've all been great fans of the Rockingbirds for years. They practically invented alt-country back in the early nineties when everyone else in the world was listening to Chesney Hawkes or Colour Me Badd (I Wanna Sex You Up - remember that?). Anyway, they were great (The Rockingbirds that is) and we are very excited about sharing the stage with them. Their fantastic first album is being remastered and reissued by Heavenly Records on the 6th April with a load of
rarities and b-sides. More details here: www.heavenly100.com/ Highly reccomended!!
Other Redlands news - our new album which might or might not be called 'Sleep Songs (and other stories)', is very nearly finished. All the recording is done and we now just need to mix the last couple of tracks and get the album mastered. The album will be released in a few months time and we will embark on a full UK tour to promote it. Check back for more details.
Cheers

We'll also be playing some of the songs from our forthcoming new album. It promises to be a great night. Last time we played at the 100 club it was a sell out. +SEPT 2008+
Hello friends. We trust that everyone has had a good summer - despite it having been really wet if you live in the UK. Work has continued on our new record over the summer months - we are getting there slowly but surely, and are all starting to get really excited about getting it out there. We've only played live at a couple of festivals over the summer. The first was at Seljord in Norway which was a fantastic experience. Had a great time and met some cool people, and made some new friends. Check out Southpaw and Buchanan - both bands from the UK who play great music and like beer as much as we do. Then we played at the Maverick Festival in Suffolk at the end of August. It was the first year of the festival and it was great with a brilliant lineup. Lets home it happens again next year.
Our next couple of live gigs are going to be good ones. We are playing an Americana-UK fundraiser at the Musician in Leicester on 20 Sept. Should be a great night with Peter Bruntnell, The Havenots and others also on the bill. Tickets are available here. Then on the 1 October we are really excited to be opening for Alan Tyler and the Lost Sons of Littlefield at the legendary 100 Club in London. The gig is a launch party for Alan's new album (which we've heard and is brilliant by teh way), so it promises to be a really great night. Worth getting tickets in advance as it will probably sell out.
That's about all for now. Cheers

+SUMMER UPDATE#2 - 16 JULY 2008+
Dear Friends,
A couple of things to update you on:
(1) We are very excited to be making our first trip to Scandanavia next week. We are off to Seljord in Norway to play at a pretty big country music festival - and we can't wait!! We'll be playing a new batch of songs for the first time, and it will be great to play to such a big crowd!
(2) Wanted to tell you about the Maverick Festival in Suffolk which we are playing at the end of August. This festival is looking like its going to be the best UK festival of the summer by far for fans of americana - it has a brilliant lineup - loads of people that we can't wait to see including Mark Olson (formally of the Jayhawks!!), the Storys, our friends Southern Tenant Folk Union, Devon Sproule, Sam Baker and many others. Details can be found here.
(3) We have added a couple of gigs in the autumn, including an Americana-UK fundraiser at the Musician in Leicester, which is shaping up to be a great gig. Details on the GIGS page. We'll hopefully be adding some more odd gigs here and there in the UK in the Autumn. Probably won't be a full tour until our next record is ready...which brings me on to....
(4) ...our new album. I'm afraid it's still not finished, but we are working really hard on it, and its coming together. We are all so excited about getting it finished and getting it out there. It's going to be worth the wait...we promise.
Right - thats all for now. Have a good summer and hopefully see you somewhere, sometime soon.
Cheers

+SUMMER UPDATE - 9 JUNE 2008+
Dear Friends - really sorry for the lack of activity and updates recently. Rest assured - we might not have been playing many shows lately, but we've been really busy working on our third record - its not been a difficult record to make, but its been taking a while! However, we are really happy with the way its going, and we've got alot done over the last couple of months. Some more to do, but we'll nail this one as soon as we can. Bare with us...it'll be worth the wait. We'll post further details as soon as we can. Cheers...RPCxxxx
+ONE OFF LONDON GIG - 24 FEBRUARY+
We are very happy to say that we are going to be playing a gig at Alan Tyler's now legendary COME DOWN AND MEET THE FOLKS club at the Apple Tree, Clerkenwell, London on Sunday 24th February. DJs and music kicks off around 4pm, and we'll probably be on around 6pm. As ever its free to get in, but it will get VERY busy, so get down early if you can.
We are currently taking a break from gigs to record our third album, so there is a high chance that this will be your ONLY chance to see us play live before the summer festival season. We have a load of brand new songs that we've never played live, so we are really looking forward to this one.
Cheers

+14 OCTOBER 2007+
So...apologies...no post or news for a while, but we needed at least a week to recover from massive hangovers after the end of our recent UK tour. We had a lot of fun, got up to alot of mischief and played in some places we've never been before which was really exciting.
We were touring to promote our new 4 track 'SHE IS YOURS' EP, which is now available for download and can been found on all the normal download sites including HERE. It features 3 brand new tracks, and it was really good to get out and play these new songs live.
It was great to have our friend Dan Tilbury from the fantastic band THE SNAKES sitting on the drumstool for the tour - he fitted in perfectly doing a wonderful job and matching our thirst for beer admirably. We got to play with some really great bands and acts on the tour, which all helped to make it a great trip. First off we played three shows with The Snakes, which really kept us on our toes, but also meant that Dan was playing twice a night!! We also did a couple of shows with our friends Lone Pine from Cardiff, who were wonderful as ever. One of the highlights of the tour was the last night up at the Darvel music festival in Scotland with Richmond Fontaine, Endrick Brothers and Joe Whyte all playing great sets. Another highlight was a gig at one of our favourite venues - the Musician in Leicester, where a guy called Grayson Capps opened up for us. Grayson was a lovely guy and a truly brilliant and inspiring singer songwriter to boot.
So all in all a great tour. Thank you to everyone that came out to see
us - we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. And thank you to all the people at all the venues who looked after us so well. Huge thanks as well to our Road Mangler Deluxe - Mr Andy Washington, who did a sterling job scraping us off floors and getting us to where we needed to be. Anyway, here are a few more of the highlights and lowlights of the tour:
Worst hangover: Dan Tilbury - kitchen floor - Alex and Hannah's house (see photo evidence)
Strangest occurence: 30 people dressed as Alex - complete with baseball caps and stick on goatee beards
Best animal: monkies at Woburn Safari Park
Best purchase: hobby horse (Hannah)
Best drink: Danish lager
Worst drink: vodka and Red Bull
Most danger on tour: huge bee on Rain's head (Leicester)
Catchphrase: 'pass me a Danish', 'ALEX - just go!'
Best service station: Truck Haven (M6 Lancashire)
We've put some photos from the tour on the PHOTO page, and will be adding more over the next week or so.
See you soon

+2 May 2007 - TOUR OVER AND UPDATE+
Sorry for the lack of updates of late. The last gig of the tour in Buckingham went well and we now have a break for a while. Thank you to everyone that came out to see us and to all the great bands around the country that we played with. We've really had a great time playing to so many new faces and of course to all the old faithful. We've got loads of photos from the tour and we'll be trying to update this site as soon as possible. We are pleased to say that the initial sales figures for TAKE ME HOME have been really encouraging - but if you haven't got a copy yet - get yourselves one. we demand it!!
The tour may be over, but thats not to say we'll be sitting on our arses. We've already started the process of working on songs for the next album which we hope will be be released in early 2008. Hannah has written a whole batch of new songs and we are all really excited to get cracking on them - particulary with Tom our new guitarist onboard, who'll be adding some banjo and dobro to the next recordings as well as electric guitar.
We've got some summer festival dates in the diary, so check the GIGS page for details. We are also planning another full UK tour for September/October when we hope to get to some places we haven't visited yet. They'll be a single/EP out at the same time as well which will feature a few new songs. We are also really pleased to be working with TURNER PALACE management, and Bob Paterson of BPA, who will be our agent from now on.
Right - thats all for now. Watch this space!! Cheers. RPC
+3 April 2007 - AND THEN THERE WERE SIX (or SEVEN)+
If you've seen the band on our current UK tour, you may have noticed that the five Palominos have been joined onstage by a sixth. Our good friend Tom Bowen has been helping out on lead guitar live, but we are very happy to announce that Tom has now joined the band on a permanent basis. Go to the band page of this website in a few days time to see what makes Tom tick. We are all very happy and excited to have Tom onboard on a permanent basis. We've a couple more gigs coming up (Leigh-on-Sea - 5th April and Buckingham on the 21st) and a few dates over the summer, but we are looking forward to getting back into the studio to start recording again. Hannah has a great new batch of songs which we intend starting work on later this month. Watch this space!
We are also really excited as we have a new manager, Netty Turner, who also looks after our friends the Deadstring Brothers. Its great to have Netty onboard to keep us out of trouble and on the straight and narrow. We are also planning a single release for later in the year and another UK tour, so hopefully we'll be coming to a town near you!!
Cheers. RPC xxx

It's available now for £11 from here.
Also, an unreleased song of Hannah's, recorded with Chris Clarke (who co-produced Take Me Home) and a whole load of other great musicans, is going to feature on a forthcoming Loose Records compilation album. +8/03/07 - STUFF+
Whats been happening lately with us then? Well, we've had loads of fun playing several gigs since the last posting - shows in Liverpool for Americana-UK (many thanks Mark and Barry), London (respec to Ramblin' Steve and Alison) and Newport (cheers Lone Pine and all he guys at Diverse Records -the best record shop in the world!). Newport was a complete sell out which was brilliant, but Hannah had a bit of an accident afterwards - fell down some stairs and broke her arm!! whoops. no guitar playing for her for a while then!!
We recorded a session for the Bob Harris Country show on BBC Radio 2 which was great fun. Bob was a gent and it was great to get to play in the BBC Studio in Maida Vale. This session will be broadcast on March 22. We also recorded a session for BBC Radio Merseyside whilst we were up in Liverpool.
What else....oh yeah...we had a rather complementary review in this months UNCUT magazine which was great news (its worth buying this issue of the magazine for the tales of Keith Moons mental antics alone!!). We've also drunk lots and lots of beer, and have a new band mascot...Bill..a border terrier puppy!
We have a gig this saturday (10th March) in Nuneaton, the home town of Jamie our drummer, which should be lots of fun. Then we've got a couple of shows with our friends Southern Tenant Folk Union in Nottingham and Manchester which we are very excited about. We are also planning to start recording again in about a month or so...possibly a load of cover versions...so if you have any suggestions...drop us an e-mail!!
+18/02/07 - GIGS + BOB HARRIS SESSION + MANAGEMENT+
Spirits are high in Camp Palomino at the moment - the tour so far has been going really well and has been a whole lot of fun. Several of the shows have sold out and its been great to get out and play to lots of new people. Many thanks to everyone that has come out to the shows and we hope to see you again next time.
We are really excited about the coming week - we've been invited to record a live session for the legendary Bob Harris for his BBCRadio 2 Country show. We'll be recording that on Thursday at the BBC Maida Vale Studios, and it's due to air on Thursday 22nd March at 7pm.
This week we've also got shows at What's Cookin' in Leytonstone, London (see GIGS page for details of change of venue!), and for Americana-UK at the Pilgrim in Liverpool. We've only ever done acoustic shows in Liverpool before so are really looking forward to this one.
Anyone that has been to any of our recent gigs will have noticed a new addition to the line-up - our good pal Tom Bowen has been helping us out on electric guitar - it's been great fun to have Tom on board and really adds a new dimension to our live sound.
Last but not least, we are all really excited at the moment as we are in the process of signing a Management contract, which is great news for the band and will hopefully lead to good things for 2007. Thats all for now....
Cheers

+NEW WEBSITE+
Hello and welcome to our new website. Apologies to all of you that have paid us a visit over the last few months and found nothing here at all...yes...we've been slack, and it's taken us far too long to get this new site up and running! Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Right...slapped wrist bit over now...whats the news from the RPC? Well...we've been away, and now we're back. We have a brand new album called 'Take Me Home', which will be coming out in the UK on 12th February 2007 on Laughing Outlaw Records. We are all very excited about the album and can't wait for it to be released and to start to hear what people think of it. Its seems like it's been a hell of a long time since our debut came out in 2004...but hell...this shit takes time. Anyway, we really hope you like the record. You can hear tracks on the music page of this site. We are also very excited about getting out on the road again and playing some gigs to promote the record. Things kick off with our album launch gig in London on the 1st February, which will be a great night. Then over the next couple of months we'll be playing around the country. Details of all the gigs and how to buy tickets etc. are on the gigs page. Right...that'll do for now...more news soon. cheers. RPC xxxxx
